It’s Time to Release What No Longer Serves You

Have you noticed how, as the old year comes to a close, all you can think about is making plans for the New Year?  Those things you would love to have in the coming year, the resolutions you want to make, the changes you want to see.  It’s all about what is to come.  But have you ever stopped to think that the end of the year is also a great time to think about what in your current life might need to go?

The year’s end is your chance to look back over the year you have just had and decide what no longer serves you now. It’s a time for release; for you to let go of anything and everything in your life that has run its course, served it’s purpose and is now a drain rather than an asset in your life.

Be willing to let go of what is no longer good or right for your highest and best good. Do you have friends that make you feel down when you’re in their company rather than cheered up? Maybe it’s time for that friendship to come to an amicable end. Are you in a relationship that brings you more sorrow than joy? Be brave enough to know your worthy of so much more and have the courage to walk away. Do you have a job that you don’t like? Are you forced to play a role that you can no longer bear? Do you live in a place that doesn’t nurture you? Whatever it is be willing to let it go and to attract something better.

The truth is, whatever it is that is no longer good for you, it is not holding onto you, you are holding onto it. You attracted it into your life and it is you and only you who are keeping there. Instead, state the intention, then take action, and let it go.

Only by letting go can you create the space for something better to come into your life.

What do you need to let go of? Whatever it is, be bold and courageous and do it. In doing so you will set yourself free.

Learn to Prioritise Your Life

Phew, can you believe there’s only a week or so until Christmas? One minute it was October and I was wondering why the shops always have to put out their Xmas decorations so early (it just feels wrong) and now here we are and Xmas is practically a week away. Where did the time go?

Right now I’m trying not to feel overwhelmed by everything I still have to do, like the last minute present buying and wrapping, food and drinks shopping, as well as running my own business and still trying to keep up with friends and family. I try to focus on one thing at a time to get everything done. But it’s so easy isn’t it to feel overwhelmed by everything we need to do at any one time? Which is why one of the best skills you can learn in life is how to prioritise.

If you’re like me you, when you have things you need to do, you want it all done yesterday. However, there are only so many hours in the day. Truth is if you sat down and really thought about what needs to be done and when, you’d find that some things aren’t as urgent as you thought; they don’t really need to be down now, you just want them done so they are out of the way, done and dusted.

Sometimes you have to accept that you can only do so much in a day. Then you need to decide what things take priority and what can be put on the back burner and left for another time.

You’ll find things go much more smoothly if you get organised and write down what needs to be done and by whom. If you can delegate some of your tasks then all the better, it frees you up for those things that are urgent. And this is relevant whether you are running your own business, running a household or just hosting Xmas for your family this year. Don’t let overwhelm get the best of you, instead prioritise your life and you’ll find things flow much better.

Giving Feels Good

As a Spiritual Healer as well as a Coach I have trained in a variety of different healing modalities and have been lucky enough to have worked with many wonderful Spiritual teachers.

Recently, a lovely mentor of mine sent out a process to ‘attune’ her students to Jesus’ energy. This was in depth energy and spiritual work and I won’t go into the nuts and bolts of it here, but it got me to thinking about Jesus and what he represents at this time of year.

Jesus gave his life, and while I am not advocating anything so extreme I would like to ask you, what do you give?

It’s so easy for us to give something to others. We can give them our time, our attention, our money, our food, our love. But do we? Seriously on a day to day, weekly or even monthly basis, ask yourself, what do you give? I bet you might be quite shocked at the answer?

With the best intention, don’t you find you get so wrapped up in your own life that when you’ve looked back over a month or so you find you’ve given very little to others? If this is true, why not take advantage of this time of giving (and receiving) to give something to someone else? You could give:
  • food or money to a homeless person
  • unwanted items or money to charity
  • a home-made cake or pie to your neighbour
  • an unexpected little keepsake to your family member or friend
  • a call to someone you’ve neglected lately
  • a hug to someone who needs it
…the list is endless.

The ways we can give are varied and almost boundless so why do we end up being so stingy with what we have? Especially, when half the time giving wouldn’t cost us a thing. Attention and affection costs nothing and yet to others they may be beyond price.

Don’t wait or deliberate, make it a priority to give something to someone else this week no matter what it is. And if you need anymore incentive, remember what you give comes back to you three-fold. Just think of the positive karma points you could be earning!

Christmas - Don't Stress It?

Is anyone else feeling excited about Christmas? I know some of you aren’t because this time of the year can been really stressful. If it’s not wondering what do we get for everyone? When do we get it? Will they like it? We’re worrying about the actual day and how much work the

Christmas dinner will be or whether everyone’s gonna behave, get got on or have a good time.
Have you ever stop to think that it’s your very thoughts that are causing the problems, that they are deciding the results? Think about it; thoughts are energy and they create our reality. If that’s the case, when we think about how stressful it all is and how everything can go wrong, that is the reality that we create.

Instead, think positively this year. Get into the spirit of the season and think about how wonderful it is. It’s an opportunity to spend time with those you love (even if it has to include those you don’t). You get to give amazing presents and show others that you care not to mention all the presents you receive. You get to stuff yourself with plenty of food, eat all the chocolate and other goodies that you want and over-indulge on your favourite tipple all without someone else raising an eyebrow or you having to feel guilty.

Give yourself permission to relax and let go. If you want to have the perfect Christmas day or even just a nice day put that out there to the Universe. Ask for it, visualise it and then give thanks to the Universe for delivering it to you. Yep, just go right ahead and assume that your request has been answered and all is going to be fine, no better that fine, it’s going to be great.
Christmas should be a time for happiness and good cheer it’s us who makes it into something stressful by feeling tense and anxious rather than seeing it as opportunity to be happy and grateful.

Choose to be glad and thankful at this time of the year. If you do that it will put you in the right mindset and the right positive vibration to attract more things to be happy and grateful for in the year to come.

Sometimes U Just Need to Tweak It

Have you ever had one of those days when you just want to give up? Yes, me too. Sometimes all your efforts and hard work seem to produce very little and it feels like your hitting your head on a brick wall. I know you may not want to here this but this is not the time to give up.

Often failure is just the Universes’ way of....not wanting us to stop…but just to do things a little differently. At times we are so attached to a certain way of doing things, so used to doing it that way, or so sure it’ll work, that we keep at it, even when what we are doing isn’t producing the results we want. And then, finally, instead of just altering our methods we give up altogether.

Let me give you an example of how we can come at something another way. Just imagine you’re a budding journalist and really want to get one of your articles featured in your favourite lifestyle magazine. Every week you ring the features editor to ask if she’d be interested in receiving articles from you and are told she’ll call you back, which she never does. You also email her as follow up and you get an automatic reply saying she’ll contact when she can, but you never hear from her. Ok, so instead you could do things a little differently. Email her one of your articles, complete with sample headlines and images, which accurately suit the typeset and style of the publication and tell her she is free to use it if she likes it. Make sure you include you bio and a pitch for 2 more article ideas that she might be interested. Then call to ask whether she received the email and liked the article/ideas. Even if you can’t get hold of her she will have received a sample of your work and got an idea of who you are and what you can do. Do you see how it works? You still called, you still emailed, you just did things a little differently.

So, is everything going the way you want in your life at the moment? If not how can you use the idea above? I challenge you to think of something that you have been doing that hasn’t been producing the results you require and to find a way to do it differently. Whether it’s getting a partner to pick up after himself, getting your children to do their chores/homework without the usual arguments or getting your boss to take you more seriously at work. Sometimes all it requires is a little change on our part to get a great change in results.

You’ve Got To Take Action

Have you ever had one of those days when you have lots of great ideas or things you need to do and you know you need to take action…and you do nothing?  Well maybe not nothing, you just do anything except what you are supposed to do.

Well I have just had one of those weeks.  I had to force myself to do what needed to be done, things I knew would help me in my life and in my business; and I still only got about a quarter done.  And here we are at the start of a new week and it’s threatening to happen all over again.  This got me to thinking about the importance of taking action.

It is really easy to say you want something, to dream of it, wish for it, ache for it.  But when it comes down to attracting it into your life and obtaining it, it won’t happen unless you take action.  Even if that action is no more than having a clear out of your wardrobe to make space for some new clothes, writing out your CV so that your in a position to send it when you’re finally ready to start applying for new jobs or sending your finished manuscript to a publisher.  See?  It could be anything.  Taking action is important now matter how small.  When you ask for what you want, you have to let the Universe know you are ready to receive it.

Clarity, visualisation, intention and action are 4 keys to actually getting your desired outcome.  First you need to be clear about what you want, then you need to imagination – in full technical, really see it in detail, you then need to set the firm intention that what you see is what you will have or achieve and you back up your intention by taking action.

Unfortunately, because of well meaning films like The Secret, which revealed the Law of Attraction to so many of us but left us with the impression that we only had to make an order and the Universe would deliver it, action is the part of the sequence that gets left out and yet it’s importance cannot be overstated.  Without action on our part, no matter how miniscule it may seem, nothing happens.

So think about what action you need to take to obtain what you want, and then go and do it.

See It to Achieve It

I was thinking the other day about how we can attain our ideal life, you know the actual steps it takes to create it, and I got to thinking about how vital it is that we take the time to visualise what we want and where we want to be.

If you really want to create a new life for yourself, a better, more fulfilling, more fantastic life, you need to be able to see it.  Now I don’t mean just having a vague idea in your head that you would like a bigger house, a flash car, a husband and 2 children or a better job.  I mean you need to be able to visualise your life as you want it to be.

Think of the Universe as a cash dispenser (for want of a better analogy).  You state what you want and it gives it to you.  You ask for £20 and it gives you £20. It might give it to you as 2 x £10, £4 x £5 or 1 x £20.  But you get £20.  The Universe is just like this.  If you give it a clear order, tell it what you want by visualising it, it will give it to you and will do so in the most appropriate form for you at that time.

Say you want a nice house, by the ocean.  Don’t just leave it at that, be a bit more specific and give it some detail.  Your job is to see yourself living in such a place.  What would it look like, feel like, smell like?  Go from room to room and decorate it.  See yourself having dinner there, entertaining friends and family, sleeping in your cosy bedroom, and relaxing in your lovely living room. And do this as often as the fancy takes you.

Now the Universe knows what kind of house you want, it will start to take steps to see you get it and, it will make sure the house in question is just right for you at the time you receive it.

Ok, there are more steps than this to creating your ideal life, but visualising it in some detail is where you start.

The problem is that what we normally do is this, we think:

“I would so love to live in a house by the sea; maybe in Miami, or Marbella or Ibiza.  I’d like 2 rooms, no 4 would be better no maybe 6 would be better.  I’d love to have two floors.  No wait, maybe I’d prefer a bungalow.  Or, maybe I should live in a penthouse in the city instead”.

Then we wonder why we either stay where we are or move onto to something that’s no better or sometimes worse.

People think that it’s ok to not know what they want and to just go with the flow.  But if you go with the flow you’ll continue to drift aimlessly, then find yourself washed up on any old river bank, or God forbid, find yourself going over a waterfall and smashing into the waters beneath.

If you don’t tell the Universe where you want to go, where you want to be, how can it take you there?

Take the time to decide what you want in your life and put some energy into visualising yourself having it.  It doesn’t matter if what you want is a new job, a new relationship, a new wardrobe, to be living in another country or all of the above.  See yourself there so the Universe knows where to take you.

Otherwise you’ll just end up drifting along, and it will be your own fault if you end up in a place you don’t want to be.

Who Are You listening To?

Maybe you can relate to this. I recently found myself once again indulging in negative thinking and listening to the naysayers that take up a disproportionate amount of space in my head.

I had been trying to publish a couple of things online and just could not get the programmes to work.  Finally, after what felt like several hours I gave up.  I sat there telling myself how stupid I was that I couldn’t make this happen when other people seemed to have no trouble, how nothing I did ever worked and how nothing ever went right for me.  None of that was true of course and it was all a bit over-dramatic.  I’m not stupid, most things I try do work and lots of things go right for me. But, in that moment of dissatisfaction and frustration, I had allowed my feelings to take over and my negative thoughts full rein.

Why is that a problem?  It’s because thoughts create our reality.  What we think and what we believe, we experience. So when I choose to go around thinking I’m stupid, can’t do anything right and have nothing but bad luck, the Universe will ensure that it provides plenty of evidence to prove me right.  I’ll come up against one situation after another where I can’t see my way through, where my efforts don’t produce positive results and where nothing falls into place  for me and I miss opportunities.

That’s the reason why so many gurus tell us we need to think positive.  Yes, I know it’s trite and that we don’t always feel like it.  But we should do it anyway.  We should make positive thoughts rather than negative ones our default setting.  Turn that voice in our heads from our worst critic into our own cheering section.

We should tell ourselves that we can do whatever we put our minds to, that our efforts will always produce good results, and that opportunities just fall into our laps.  Because if we can do this consistently, and believe it, pretty soon that will be our reality.

Are U Meant to Be a Passionpreneur?

I love the term Passionpreneur.  It was coined by Amythst Wyldfire a Spiritual Coach and Healer who uses it to describe people, who are entrepreneurs, who are passionate about their business and who love what they do.

I’m a Passionprenuer.  I love coaching clients, helping them to heal; helping them to love the life they have or create the life they want.  I feel blessed that I get to follow my Life Path and fulfil my Life Purpose and I am committed to helping others do the same.

How about you, do you love what you do?  Is there something you love to do but don’t think you could make a living from it?  I’ve found that more and more people are awakening to the idea that they can do what they want to for a living that their work can be something that fills their heart and soul with pleasure instead of something they dread.

Whether you are great at art, a fantastic cook, have the capacity to look at a house and see its possibilities or look at a person’s current image and visualise how fantastic they could really look, there is something we are all meant to do and it’s nearly always something we can monetize.

Everybody has something they’re good at.  I believe everyone has something they could do for a living that will bring them joy.  It’s there even if you haven’t found it yet.  If you’re really lucky you’ll grow up knowing what that is or it’ll fall into your lap without you even trying.  For most people, however, they spend a life time trying to find it and so many never do.

But, that’s because they were looking in the wrong place.  You need to look inside yourself for answers not out.  The classifieds and job agencies will help you find work but they won’t tell you what you love to do.  Only by connecting to your inner-self and finding your passion will you find the work you love.  And for those who find it difficult to go it alone (I was one) there’s lots of help out there too, people who are Passionpreneurs themselves who can help awaken the Passionpreneur in you.

Do you already have a passion that you would like to monetize, some idea of work you’d love to do?  Drop me line and tell me what you’d like to do.

Let it Go

This morning I found myself re-hashing an incident that occurred with a family member over and over again.  You know the kind of thing, something small so you don’t feel you can really go and bring it up with them and have a huge old argument, but nevertheless you find it really annoying and you just wish they wouldn’t do it. To avoid a falling out I said nothing; but in my head I went over the incident over and over again feeling annoyed and upset with every repetition.

While, my sibling had no idea they had upset me and was merrily getting on with their life, I sat in a puddle of anger and hot-headedness.

Eventually I gave myself a reality check I reminded myself that what happened was over and in the past, that in the wider scheme of things (world hunger, poverty, etc) it was not that important and that anyway by this time next week I’d have ceased to care about it.

Nevertheless once I’d calmed down I got to thinking about how often we do this to ourselves.  You know what I mean.  All those things, that we really wish we could forget but don’t.  Incidents, arguments, events, embarrassments, it’s like it’s a film on a permanent loop in our head, which we watch repeatedly.  Its past, it’s over, it’s happened, it’s done with; but we’re not done with it.  We keep thinking about it and wallowing in it.

The problem is it’s not just pictures; we feel every moment of pain, shame, fear or guilt as fresh and as deeply as if it had just happened. It’s like we’re masochists repeatedly lashing ourselves with our own mind-made whip.

It’s like we can’t stop it, like it is out of our control, but really it’s not.

Like I did, we have to just stop.   Really, we need to think of something else, go and do something that makes us feel good and puts a smile on our face, try a change of scenery or just try putting whatever it is into a wider perspective.

Whatever we do we have to stop making ourselves feel bad by constantly re-living the past.

Forget it; put it behind you, because in the end, the only one who feels the pain, anger or shame of it is you.  So let it go.

Red Means Go

I’m always telling my clients about the great benefits of colour and how they can use it in their lives.  Well I found I had to take my own advice today.

Have you ever had one of those days when you just can’t get going? You have a millions things you need to do and no energy in which to do them.  Your telling yourself to get going but your mind and body don’t respond because you just can’t be bothered.  That was how I started out this day.

So I wondered what I could do to rev myself and my eye fell on my favourite red top.  Ah, just what I needed to perk me up.  Red for danger, red for passion, red to excite the senses.  Red is stimulating and energising, it represents enthusiasm and commitment and it can makes us feel powerful, dynamic and sexy.

Colour can influence our emotions, actions and reactions and red especially has a powerful effect.

Sometimes we just need a little assistance to get us in the mood and on the go. If you’re having trouble taking  action in your life why not help yourself by finding a way to bring more red into it.  Try red drinks like pomegranate, cranberry or red grape juice.  Get red throws, cushion or lamps for your living space.  Add more red to your wardrobe or even invest in some red underwear that you can wear everyday.  You’ll be surprised by what a difference it makes, it may even make you feel like a new person.

I’m off out in my red top, carrying my red bag and sporting my lovely ring with the large red stone (people love it; it always gets lots of comments).   If you want more energy, stimulation and excitement in your life why not add some red to it and let me know how that works for you?

“Do You Think Poor – Part 2”

Right, if you read part 1 of this blog you’ll know whether you, like most of us, think poor.  And I promised to tell you how to change your Poverty Mentality to something more positive

Well, first you have to get rid of your old negative dialogues such as “I’m no good with money”, “I can’t seem to stretch my wages far enough”, “Money just seems to slip through my fingers” or any of the above and replace them with new positive dialogue such as ”I know how to manage my money well”, “I always have a enough for what I need”, “I easily save and grow my finances”, “I know how to make my money work best for me”.

Get into the habit of describing yourself and your circumstances positively and, in the present tense, so that you state that you appreciate what you currently have, use what you have in the best way and know that more is coming to you. Try something like this “I am grateful that I have enough money for my needs right now”, “I don’t worry about my finances because I trust that I will always have enough for my wants and needs”.  “Although I’m not able to purchase what I want today but I know it will come to me when the time is right”.  Or make up your own.

You may not see instant results but pretty soon you’ll start to see a difference in your money flow.

If you change your inner dialogue, and take action to go with it, such as putting aside £5 a month in a savings account to show you handle money responsibly and not spending what you don’t have or getting into unnecessary debt (Ask yourself, do you really need that £110 handbag on your credit card or yet another expensive gadget?), you will begin to change your negative beliefs into positive ones.

Ok it may not be easy and may take some getting used to, but it really is that simple.  And for those of you who were hoping for some magic formula – truly, this is it.

If you really make an effort to change your beliefs, if you do the above, your Poverty Mentality will transform into an Abundance Mentality and money will start to flow to you rather than away.

Do you Think Poor?

Do you have a Poverty Mentality?  Many of you may not even know what I mean, while others will be declaring “Of course not, I want to be rich”.

But if you regularly think or tell yourself things like “I just can’t make ends meet”, “I’ll never be able to afford that”, “Money is so hard to come by” or “I just don’t have enough”.  Then a Poverty Mentality is exactly what you have.

Thinking or saying these things is an ingrained habit and one we need to break.

Just consider your own thoughts on this for a moment, even if you don’t have the money right now, why are you are assuming you’ll never have it?  Just because you are experiencing financial difficulty or don’t have the money for the thing you want right now, doesn’t mean you never will.

In truth most of us have experienced peaks and troughs – times when we could easily afford what we wanted and then the next thing we knew we can’t find two pennies to rub together.  However, we don’t remember the good times; all we know is we ‘never’ have enough money.

In reality anything could happen.  You could get a better paid job, find a second job, be left an inheritance or win money on the lottery.  These things happen to hundreds of people everyday.  So why not you?  I’ll tell you why. These things happen if you believe they will….BUT if you believe that they won’t, then they won’t.

It all comes down to your unconscious beliefs because it is these that control your money flow.  You can’t just want to be rich or THINK yourself rich; you have to BELIEVE it can happen for you.  You have to believe that being mega rich, well off, financially solvent, not struggling to pay bills (pick whatever level you are most comfortable with right now) is possible for you.

If this resonates with you and you want to know how you can change your beliefs, come back here and I’ll give you some tips on how to exchange your poor mentality for a richer one soon….

Resistance - Your Unconscious Enemy

Do you know how resistance is operating in your life?  What effect it is having on you and what you do?

Resistance is a strong force in our lives but many people do not recognise it or are not aware of what it is.

Resistance is when you know what you need to do, know what actions you need to take or have something you have to do, but you do not do it.  You avoid it, you make excuses to yourself or others for not doing it, you tell yourself you are too busy to do it now but will get around to it and never do.

Say you have a report to do for school or work.  You could just sit down and do it but you don’t.  Instead you make yourself a snack, pick up a book, leaf through a magazine or pop out to the shops.  And in your mind the task keeps getting bigger and bigger.  Pretty soon the report seems huge, impossible; it’s like an albatross hanging around your neck.  Until the day you can put it off no longer and you force yourself to sit down and do it….and you find you it flowed easily and quickly and you manage to get it done in an afternoon.  All that anxiety, all that angst, all that worry, was for nothing.  Had you done it straight away you could have saved yourself a whole load of stress.

Such is the power of resistance; it turns molehills into mountains and kitties into monsters.  But worse, it acts as a huge block in our life and keeps us stuck.

What we resist persists.  We can resist it all we want but its still there and will hinder our progress and stop us from moving forward in our lives.  That call we need to make, that stuff we need to clear out of the spare room, the apology we need to make, the trip we need to take.  It will just sit in our path and impede our way, sucking up energy and attention as we dream up ever more creative ways to avoid it.

What we need to understand is that the very thing we resist is what will move us forward in our lives.  Perhaps when we finally make the call what was a business prospect becomes a client, when we clean the spare room we are finally able to set up that home office and create a new stream of income, when we make the apology we heal that family rift or regain a friend and as we take the trip we put to rest memories and old hurts that we needed to let go.

These are just examples, but how is resistance affecting you?

My wish for you is that you become aware of how resistance is operating in your own life, how it is tripping you up, and take whatever steps you need to overcome it.

No More Playing Small

I have just listened to a teleseminar by Baeth Davis and Fabienne Fredericks (The Hand Analysis and Client Attraction Queens) that has really hit home for me.

Even as I write this, a lump is rising in my throat and I want to cry. I am a Happiness and Prosperity Coach. I’ve trained in coaching, various energy healing techniques, many spiritual therapies, psychic awareness and so much more.

When I work with my clients good things happen for them. When I give them the tools to change their lives, they take it and they run with it. Yet I cannot seem to do the same for myself. I have learnt all about manifesting and I see my clients manifesting but I can barely manifest for myself. I know all about the Law of Attraction and I see so many others having success with it, including those I have taught, but I never seem to attract the things that I want. I want more, I need more and I know that I deserve more.

Having done so much spiritual and energy work I know all about unconscious beliefs, energy blocks, self-sabotage, spirit attachments, geopathic stress and much more. But what I learnt today, what I’ve known in my heart all along but have never addressed, is my deep-rooted habit of playing small.

I can be quite shy and I spent many years of my life trying to be invisible. Now I have a business and I want to serve others, yet it is not really happening. Why? I have the opportunity to step into my power in a big way, yet this fear of stepping into the limelight is tripping me up. It’s holding me back. I am already an expert at what I do, at this my life’s work, but no-ones knows it because I am too nervous to let everyone know what I do.

Facing up to this has been hard for me and even now I want to shrink at what I know I need to do. But, ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’…words I am only now taking to heart. I have to be seen, get known, be judged and meet the Universe’s expectations of me. I have to step into my Power.

So world…watch this space.
